Heading West - Day 5 - Moab, Utah (June 30, 2021) - biking and hiking

By Finnegan

My mom and dad say that one of the many great things about traveling with these teen and tween-agers, is that we could head out for an early ride, and me and the kids can hang out, go for walks, and cuddle.

Some photos from my parent's bike ride:

Once they got back, we headed out for a hike to a waterfall and swimming hole. They won't let me on the trails in the Arches National Park, but I think this was better anyway.  It was pretty warm, so being able to take frequent dips as we walked was wonderful!

The waterfall and swimming hole were glorious!

We next hiked to the top of the waterfall.  I found a few lizards to chase along the way.  I would have had them too if it weren't for the darn leash!

Lizard watching...

Petroglyphs along the way.

The sand was too hot for my toes on the way back.  I let my people know by stopping, and alternating picking up my paws.  They finally caught on and carried me.

Mango sorbet after the walk - no vanilla ice cream?!?  Where's the justice?  We then went to the food truck park. So hot!  We took the food to go.

Later that night we drove into Arches National Park to watch the sunset - from the car and parking lots!  We need to end the discrimination against dogs on trails!  Send donations - money, peanut butter, bacon or cheese sticks, to me in South Bend to help fund the cause.

My kids ordered takeout sushi which we picked up on our way back to the hotel.  I don't like sushi.
