Milan - Day 11 - May 25

We enjoyed walking around the city today.

Corey recognized how much this photo happened to look like Tom Cruise.  Caden wore it better.

Milan - Day 9 & 10 - May 23-24

While I went to teach, the kids set out to explore Milan on their own.  Love that they know the city well enough!

My jasmine - smells so heavenly!

I was too tired after gelato, but Corey hung out with Martina and Dennis along the water.

The next morning we spent some time at Viale Papiniano - which is close to where Lily and I stayed last year.  The fruits and vegetables are so vibrant.

I peeled off to teach.  Everyone else walked on, and visited the street where we stayed a few years ago.  Love the then and now photo of Caden!

And here's my view... workshops with Avanade today.

Mood lifted when I passed a puppy pen on my way home :)

We went to "all-you-can-eat-sushi" that night with the ND students.  We had to see for ourselves how much the athletes can eat.  WOW!  This is why the last place they went to would not have us back.

The Angst kids held their own too!

Bidding farewell to Martina.

And the subway home...

Florence & Milan - Day 8 - May 22

I had my first long run this morning, setting out to run 8 miles around beautiful Florence.  So much to see I would have gladly run 20!  Well, maybe not 20, but it was soulful!  And extra fun because I listened to Gia's playlist.  It made me smile listening to the songs she picked and imagining why each one was selected.

Caden and I stopped for snacks on our way to the bus.

Meanwhile in Milan...croissants and markets for flowers :)

Then we were reunited! Yay!  AND two of my favorite people, and former students, Audrey and Alice took the train down from Switzerland and joined us for dinner at Obica.

After dinner we walked through the piazza amidst the CRAZY celebration of AC Milan winning the Italian Cup Serie A.  The excitement was mob-like.  Gia was super nervous.  It was really thrilling - and very loud! - to be in the mix!

Then we went to Chocalti for gelato and all was well :)
