Yangshuo - Day 9

I set out to try a long run today.  There is a trail along the river that finally opened after the long rains.  Problem was, there was over a foot deep of standing water across the trail, so I turned around, and we all opted for a bike ride instead.  Boy did we get muddy!  This was a unanimous highlight of our time in Yangshuo!

Possibly one of the coolest experiences ever on a bike!

Once finished, Corey headed off on a solo ride into town to check out West Street.  The kids and I got cleaned up and we all met at the pool to goof around for a bit.

We decided to check out some electric scooters to tour around a bit.  You see families of 4 on one scooter, including little kids standing or sitting in a high chair between their parents legs.  It was a hot evening and a beautiful way to see the area.

After the scooters, we took a taxi to West Street.  The ride alone was an adventure.  We were happy with our decision to not take the scooters in!

So much to see -- including painted turtles, that the kids wanted to buy and set free.  As we were looking at the turtles the guy manning the table moved the turtles under a scooter and picked up the table and walked away.  Then we noticed the police were walking up the sidewalk.  As soon as they passed, he set his table back down and pulled out his turtles.

So many interesting food options - including crickets and caterpillars '_'  We did not partake.  We took a break from Chinese food and went to McDonalds!

Claw machines are everywhere, taunting Caden.  This is the view from the McDonald's balcony.
We took our little angels for the ice cream tacos - where we met an extended family of 16 traveling together from North Carolina.  Then we hopped in a cab back to Cozy under a full moon.
