We decided to hike to one of the largest Buddhas in the world today. Based on reviews, we thought it was a 6-mile hike, so there were only 5 of us. Pretty hot and steep climb, so we were grateful to not make the climb to the soundtrack of whining (aside from our own).

Makeshift street light we passsed |

One of the many spirit-houses we passed. Initially we thought it was littered, before reading that "Red Fanta" replaces animal sacrifices for a red liquid. |
We happened across the "Golden Orb" spider (actually two of them) on the side of our trail. They are nearly as big as my hand! '_'
We also came across some elephants....

Our beverage stop along the say. |
Once in we had to wear skirts to cover our knees. It was soooooo hot!
These monkeys surprised us by jumping up onto Micki's foot as she hung her brass prayer message. They raided the trash and drank water and soda. When the soda spilled on her leg, she licked it off.

Had to steal a pic of this cutie! |
After our hike, we had massages again (feeling a bit guilty, but such a nice and affordable perk in Thailand.
After massages we walked to dinner at Sea Salt, just up the way.
Here are the vendors lining the walkway along the bay - fresh fish and picnic blankets lining the way.
The walk into Patong Beach is a bit harrowing. This is the roomiest part of the walk. Cars think nothing of parking on the sidewalk with part of the vehicle in the road, forcing pedestrians into the road.
We had dinner at Sea Salt tonight. Incredible views and amazing food!

Fish, salmon "tacos", and Caesar salad |

Kids were working on their line dancing on the lawn of Sea Salt. |

The picnic spots really filled up! |
