Heading to Hong Kong! - Day 11

We absolutely loved our time in Yangshuo.  The kids declared Cozy Tea their favorite hotel ever.  I did a very short run this morning to say farewell, and to capture a few photos now that the flooding has subsided.  The bamboo rafting is operational today.  Next time...

This little channel is where many locals wash their clothes or dishes

The lotus farm docks were finally out of water!

We our usual breakfast at Cozy and tried a little pancake art :)

Amy is to our left.  She was one of our sweet hostesses for our Cozy Tea stay.
We said our farewells and began our drive to Guilin to catch our bullet train to Hong Kong.  In the countryside here many of the signs on the highway are not in English.  Glad we did not rent a car!

We checked out the snacking options with our remaining Yuan...and ended up at the cafe instead and shared some Guilin Noodles.  There are stations to get boiling water in the train station so that you can add water to your own noodles.

I can only imagine how these might feel in your mouth.  You could buy a pack, or single serve.  We couldn't decide, so did not buy any. :)
Waiting for the train in the 110 degree heat...

Gia finished her book on the 3.5 hour ride to Hong Kong
Once in Hong Kong, we got some Hong Kong dollars and took a cab to our hotel, the Intercontinental right on Victoria Harbour (thanks to Lissa's recommendation).  It did not disappoint!  Great location, great views, and a salt water pool that is body temperature - perfect!  The hot tub over looking the harbor was pretty perfect too.
The hotel has numerous award-winning restaurants.  We decided to visit Nobu HK while we had the chance, and then spent the night swimming.

The hot tub had a warm tub, and an icey cold tub, all separated by clear glass panels.

 Watching the harbor from Nobu...

Corey and I did the tasting menu and the kids had a variety of sushi rolls.

My chopstick masters.  Now if only learning Chinese were as easy...
Caden began embracing wasabi at this meal.  Gia - not so much :)

We had the pool to ourselves until it closed at 10 PM.  The lights of the buildings and the digital billboards provided a beautiful backdrop.

We could not fit five into one room so have two hotel rooms - the boys and the girls, each with a king bed.  We made a makeshift "Gigi Nest" using the chaise lounge and the ottoman :)
