Xi'an to Yangshuo - Day 6

I think I failed to mention in the last post that Gia lost her tooth!  We were curious to see if her tooth fairy would find her in Asia, but thankfully, she did!  And she left her 20 Yuan!  Gia was so excited, but a little disappointed to learn it was only about $3 USD.

We all agreed on our way out of Xi'an that we could have used a few more days in this beautiful city!  Next time!

We had breakfast at the Wyndham this morning before heading to the airport.

As I think we've mentioned previously, the Chinese friends we have spoken to are very proud of how safe China is, as there are cameras EVERYWHERE.  This is one in our cab on the way to the airport!

And robots to slow down traffic also help with safety :)

We have a system down with getting through the airport now involving these little personal luggage carts / scooters :)

Slight delays at the airport, but the time passed quickly with the great people watching.  So many amazing clothes!  And we are being watched more intently!  Especially Gia with her golden hair.

Perusing the fans purchased at the markets the night before.
The plane ride to Yangshuo was uneventful, with the exception of the flight attendant thinking that Gia did not have a seat.  It was Gia and I in a row and another westerner.  Another woman also had a seat in our row, so the flight attendant kept telling me, over and over again, "The baby has no seat".  I showed her Gia's ticket, but she persisted.  We finally realized that the other westerner was in Gia's seat, and the flight attendant assumed we were a family.  Westerners all look the same :)

After the other woman moved it gave Ginger space to have a safe flight.

More interesting plane food...

Lily and Caden did a little drawing...and watching of Stranger Things.

Arriving into Yangshuo looked like we were landing in Jurassic Park or in the movie Avatar.  The mountains are green and lush and it is very, very wet.

The drive in to our hotel - the Tea Cozy House, took about 90 minutes.  We crossed a lot of interesting and diverse areas before arriving at our beautiful hotel.  We were awed by the beauty of it, and loved the welcome lemon tea :)

Our hotel room has two bedrooms.  The beds are elevated on a small platform.  The kids have declared this their new favorite hotel.

The kids headed right for the pool.  The surrounding mountains are stunning.  There are also rice paddies and lotus farms.  The pool itself is surrounded by little flowers that have at least 30 butterflies on then at any given time.

We lounged around and swam, had dinner -- which is sourced from their own farm and surrounding farms.  The tofu was incredible!

After dinner Lily, Caden and me had massages.  Gia was scheduled this evening too, but she met a new friend, Sarah Joyce, from Perth of course :) but who lives in Shangai.  Gia maturely decided to defer her massage until the next day :)

So the massages were a crazy experience!  In the words of Caden, "We got full body massages.  You had to get in your underwear and this massage person rubbed your whole body.  The ladies were wearing weird clothes, like lacey dresses and short skirts.  My mom, Lily and I all got a massage at the same time in our room.  It was so awesome I asked if I can do one the next day." LOVE THIS :)

Before, and after...

The rain began to role in.  The forecast shows rain every day, but the hotel staff assures us that it usually subsided by the afternoon.  The exception being tomorrow.  It is expected to rain all day.
