Cotwsold's to home - Day 12-13 - Aug 8-9

We were only supposed to stay in the Cotswald's 2 nights, and then head to London for the last one, but we were having so much fun in the beautiful countryside, we decided to stay - Lily's suggestion.

Today we decided to try the "country walk" to a café. We texted with the renters a bit to make sure we followed the ill-marked path.  It was questionable the entire time, but we made it!  And it was divine!

Love these beautiful stone houses that seem to be at every turn.  We explored the grounds a bit, and made a new four-legged friend :)

Once back we headed into Tetbury to get the makings for a picnic.  Lily had designs to make a charcuterie for us to enjoy on the castle grounds.  And boy, did she ever!

This will go down in history as one of my best days ever!  We used my 'market dress', which fans out in a huge circle, as our picnic blanket.  Then we ate, talked, laugh, drank and napped!  It does not get much better than this!!!  PS some of the items are from Prince (now King) Charles farm.  All purchased BTW.

I 💓 sausage roles.

Back inside for more relaxing.

And enjoying this serene bath bub.  Bath tub, bed, and bathroom area are all screen shots I had to get from Airbnb because I forgot to take photos!

Love this book outlining the history of the castle.

And finally, some of the recipes I would love to make sometime...
