Day 14 - Paris, May 30, 2021

We had breakfast in our hotel - eggs, meat, cheese and croissants of course.  Our first eggs since being in Europe!  We then set off for the metro to head to Versailles for our 9 AM tickets.  Beautiful and quiet morning.

This one looks strangely like Kevin Spacey!

We packed some snacks from the hotel and enjoyed them during the fountain show.

We next headed to the Louvre. We had an hour until our entry time, so we bought lunch and a picnic in the gardens.  It was a highlight of the day!

This food stand was amazing!  The bread was to die for!

We had a great visit in the Louvre!

One of these things is not like the other...

My little artist could not get over the smooth detail of the wrinkles in the fabric carved from marble.

Lily had studies this painting already.

We got in trouble for this one (pulling her mask down), but it was worth it : )

We rested back at the hotel for a bit before leaving for our appointment to get our rapid PCR test at 5:40 PM at the "Centre Depistage Covid 10" site at the "Capellalab Rivoli, Place de l'Hotel De ville".

The GPS mapped us to a block with a closed building.  So we tried a pharmacy across the street.  The nice pharmacists spent 20 minutes with us discussing whether or not "rapid PCR tests" exist and what the address is that our hotel provided us.  Ultimately, they found a site, found appointments the next day (Monday) and said that when we were back to our hotel, to have the concierge help make an appointment since it requires a French mobile phone.

We tried the address again.  Stopped the Place de l'Hotel De ville department store.  The lady sent us to the below building across the street.  Which we cased thoroughly to find no open doors.  We went back to the department store.  She had no other suggestions.  So we decided to try one more time, and noticed a small white tent across the street from the plaza....

One lady in the tent confirmed it was a rapid PCR test and we would have the results in 24 to 36 hours.  And she only needed one nostril!  Life was looking up!

We spent a half hour just sitting in the plaza letting the stress hormones dissipate.  We spent well over 90-minutes on the Covid quest.

Then we walked on to find a spot for dinner...

I may have had two glasses of wine.

Lily declared this the best pizza of her life!

Beautiful views walking home.  We strolled by Notre Dame which is heavily under construction from the fire.

Pretty orchid shop

We stopped for nightly crepe fix just next to Notre Dame.

Then home we went...

What a day!  We broke 30,000 steps.
