Day 13 - Milan to Paris, May 29, 2021

I ordered the taxi to arrive a little early just in case...and glad I did!  He didn't show!  We called multiple times, before deciding to hoof it 10 min away to our favorite croissant place that had a taxi stand close by.  It was quite comical.  Especially when Lily's luggage wheel got stuck in a street grate and the bags fell.

Just before we reached the taxi stand, a taxi pulled and whisked us away :)

The line at the airport took FOREVER!!!  The first person in line had some issues going on, and occupied the only attendant for at least 30-minutes.  No joke.

Our COVID test worked!  We had a yummy panini breakfast.  And we were off to Paris!

Once we landed, we hopped in a taxi for a 45-minute ride to our place, that ended up taking 2 hours due to traffic.  There were parades, protests, parades about protests, and inconsiderate drivers that would make a left turn and block the entire lane.  Tres frustrating!!!

And then we arrived!  Belle!  We dropped off our things at our place - Hotel Odeon... we are on the 6th floor.  The elevator is petit, big enough for just one person with their bag, and the hallways are just wide enough for a suitcase.  Adorable.

After getting settled, we headed to one of the many cute bistros for a bite to eat, located in the middle of the sidewalk.  It was great!  We had hummus and mushrooms.

We next headed to the Seine and strolled along the river, then ultimately through the by the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe du Carousel and the Tuileries Garden, ultimately ending at the Eiffel Tower.  Lily was giddy.  Unfortunately the Eiffel Tower does not open until June, but it was a great day taking in the beauty of the city everywhere you looked.

After all of our walking, we had to have a crepe of course :)  They were closing, but the sweet lady offered to still make us crepes for takeaway.

We sat on a stoop across the street from this beautiful building.

Then tried unsuccessfully to rent bikes, before walking the 38 minute trek home.

The view from our window...

Bonsoir!
