Tuscany - June 14

We headed for a family run this morning.  Actually we ran to croissants.  Does it still count?!?

The view this morning with the low clouds.  Today is a 100% chance of rain.  I have quit believing them.
 Running down the drive...

And we're here!  I finally figured out that the croissants are on a warming tray in the case, and that is how they are always the perfect temperature.  Yes, solving that riddle took about 3 weeks too long '_'

Once back, we jumped right in the pool, clothes and all.  And then we did some family water color painting.

And then we had lunch...and an entire bottle of Tuscan white wine.  Momma mia!  I had a big nap afterwards!

Caden's new pug suit :)

Wendy - The inspiration - combining s few different stone walls and flowers around the house.

Caden - field of poppies

Lily - took inspiration from a Pienza photo.

We fit in a bit more swimming...
 My cool dude reading.

We promised the kids no more than 20 minutes in the car today, so we ate a little restaurant in the close town of Montevarchi called Danielle & Riccardo where you do not order off a menu, but just take whatever they are serving for the night.

When we arrived, we were the first ones in the restaurant.  By the time we left, people we were lined up out the door.  I got to sit next to this hip little girl :)

The antipasti - starting at the bottom and moving counter clockwise - chicken pate, white bans, sausage and cheese (like we made with Michele in Florence, egg &cheese soufle, vegetarian meatball, savory crepe, tuna tartar, anchovies, and beef carpacio.

Other courses included "nude spinach ravioli" which was basically spinach and ricotta that you would typically find inside of ravioli, a couscous and tomato dish, and pork, with gelato for dessert.  We were all overly full and took home leftovers.

We had some great discussions over dinner about favorite places traveled, where to go next - Caden really wants to see Japan, and what everyone wants to be when they get big.  Gia is thinking a pediatrician and/or first grade teacher, Caden is a You-Tuber and/or architect, and Lily is a college professor.  Although she reminded me that she is only 12, Caden 10, and Gia 7, and they really have no idea! :)

A little dancing in the streets on on our way back to the car :)

Pretty sensational graffiti by the car park.
