Italy to Israel! - Day 14, June 10

Quiet morning!  Dryer is stopping every 5 minutes so hoping the morning air will dry our clothes over the next couple of hours.  We need to be on the road by 9 (6 right now).  Troy, Carolyn, and Ange left at 5.  Sigh.  The week went too fast!

Love this painting in the house of the view from our house!  Hoping the kids can recreate it for me :)

We had a couple of hours at the Rome airport, so we went to Eataly :)  And then Venchi for our final Italian gelato.  Arrividerci!

We arrived in Israel well after dark.  Initial first impressions were that Tel Aviv rivals Vegas – the city did not seem to be aware of how late it was.  Cafes were packed.  Sidewalks were bustling.  We quickly dropped our bags in our apartment, set on the third floor of a dirty-ish building with paintings hung low to hide holes in the wall, yet charming with its city grit and grime.

We found a café a couple of blocks up donned in pride flags.  As we dined, we noticed most of the patrons were same sex couples, mostly male.  This is a vibrant neighborhood and it is has a really wonderful energy.  Love it!

We had a great meal of quinoa, bread, calamari and ceviche before retiring to bed.
