El Salvador - Day 8

I could get used to watching the sunrise over the ocean as the waves crash on the shore.  So nice to have time to think and to read, and to watch the surfers.

We had breakfast at the hotel and lounged around before surf lessons at 11.

Side note - Caden's eyes are turning from brown to hazel!

SURF LESSONS!!!

You start off with stretching, followed by practicing how to surf on an outline of a surfboard they trace on the sand.  This is where I excelled :)  Once in the water, yeesh!

Here we go...We each had our own instructor.  Mine was Henry, and is apparently a professional surfer.  The photographer, Elisa, managed to catch some great photos of all of us.  She was a sweetheart.  We spent quite a bit of time discussing her life while we waited for the photos to upload.

GIGI

This is the photo right after surf lessons.  Still smiling.  Some of us were limping :)

Remarkable to me that the construction crew for a beachside hotel came down to play a full-on game of soccer in their work clothes and bears on 90 degree heat.  That's what it means to love the game!

Lily's photo shoot... :)

Here she's just walking away, but still cute :)

We walked into town for lunch at the fish restaurant our surf instructor recommended.

Who says you need to spend a lot on dumbbells?!?

The little town

The walk back

Another gorgeous sunset!

And to make the sunset even more beautiful, add a little Gigi

The kids wanted to stay in for dinner, so Corey and I went on a date.  Walking the beach in the dark was an adventure, but the food at Captain Hook was amazing!?!

The kids who dissed us for dinner.

This meals was one of the best we've had.  Below is a pic of curried ceviche.

They make all this magic happen from this tiny little kitchen.

Our walk home...
