The last day of 2025! We decided to head to San Pedro for breakfast at a place I read about called Harvest Cafe. Since we all turned off the wifi on our phones it is always a bit of an adventure when we head out. On our way to San Pedro we saw signs for Secret Beach, also on our list, so decided to head there first. Low and behold we found Harvest Bowl at Secret Beach :) It did not disappoint! Iced coffees included dulce de leche, lavender honey, and Belizean chocolate. Lily and I shared the acai bowl and avocado toast. We plan to return Friday to spend the day when the wind is lower.
Super windy so we decided to move on to San Pedro. The owner of the Harvest Cafe, Ryan (left his job as a union plumber in the US 3 years ago with his wife in search of a slower and healthier lifestyle - check and check). He recommended a few stops in San Pedro - so we set out to try them all :) Hopped in the golf cart - for which I am increasingly finding myself in the back row - and we were off.
First stop - Palapa Bar. The bar is suspended over the water, complete with both dock and tube service. We bought a bucket of Beliken and a few other cocktails. The bucket gets delivered by zip line if you're sitting in the right spot.
Then to the Belizean Chocolate Factory. Ryan suggested that order, so despite being full, we did as we were told. We took the chocolate torte and cheesecake to go. Also forgot photos...so we will have to return here too!
Once home we attempted naps so we could really to head out for New Years Eve. While no one actually managed a nap, we did indeed rally, due in large part to Lily's persistence. Not where she gets it from! :)
Corey - feigning his enthusiasm. He may have been a tad bit grouchy about going out, but some mix of messaging of Lily not having many more New Years with us, us getting old, the importance of family memories, and roadie, seemed to do the trick.
We headed to The Truck Stop, only to find that they did not have a New Years party!!! So we headed a couple of miles north, back towards our place, to the karaoke bar where a shot is given for every song you sing.
Lily convinced us, once again with her persuasive charm, that we needed pre-shots - and drinks! Even Caden joined in.
Lily and I "sang" first. Dancing Queen of course. No photos captured, as I am the only one who knows how to take photos in our family, but there is video somewhere that no one wants to listen to.
