Up EARLY for our safari, and our drive back to Kampala for COVID testing prior to flights out. It was an awesome day driving around out and the open with the kids - and the amazing ND students :) Here are some of the highlights...
Droplets from Murchison falls...
Tired children -
We stopped at the markets for a little shopping.
We enjoyed a great sushi lunch with the whole team.
Love this label :)
Me, Alex, Victoria, Denis, and Phiona (our new Teach for Uganda teacher)
Goofy children...
The favorite drink of the trip
The end of the trip had as much suspense, dare I say ANGST
as the start! Negative COVID tests were
required to get back to the US, although there was some debate between the test
giver and our group on whether the less expensive antigen test would work. We ultimately gave in, and passed the next 8
hours with visiting local markets and then sitting all in my hotel room
watching the email for the test results to come in. The fact that there were 15 of us, the odds
were not in our favor. But thankfully,
we all passed! The bulk of the group
headed back to the US and one other student and our family flew to Kenya
(different places).
