Day 39 - Wyoming to South Dakota (Aug 4)

By Finny

Mom and I got up with the sun and walked around the farm.

We had the 7:30 AM cowboy breakfast with pancakes bigger than the plate!

I took my kids, and my mom, on a walk through the fields after breakfast to look for the wild horses...

I found 'em!

I ran right towards them and barked, but they just kept coming closer!

I ran back and checked with mom and Lily and they said it was safe, so I went up and met them.  They really weren't that different than a dog!  We made fast friends.

On the way out, I met some cows.  I could get used to farm living!

We stopped in the cute town of Sheridan, WY for lunch and there was a tribute to Caden's spirit animal, the otter :)

Dad was happy to find Wyoming whiskey.

Next up was glamping at Mount Rushmore.  We had a big tent with a bathroom in it and a little TP with two beds in it.

There were unlimited s'more kits available.

Caden made charcoal art on the fire pit that was kind of neat.

After s'mores we headed up to the main lodge to watch Mount Rushmore light up and have some charcuterie and a lot of giggles!

Funny enough the images of Mount Rushmore didn't turn out to good in the dark...

But here's a photo of a photo :)

Day 38 - Idaho to Wyoming (Aug 3)

By Finny

Mom and I took a walk early this morning.  It was still pretty wet from the the rain the day before.  The misty mountains were so pretty!

Once I got my kids up we headed out for a hike.  Lily practiced driving up the road.  We stopped for a quick photo of a newt crossing the road.

Caden found a butterfly on the hike that really seemed to like him.

He hiked with Caden for a long time until we were able to find a nice dry flower in the sunshine.

After some photo posing and a quick drink, we headed back to the lodge to check out.

I LOVE goat watching!

We drove on from Idaho through Yellowstone on to Cody, Wyoming for our next adventure...

Our next stop was staying in a geodome surrounded by teepees.

Home sweet home

I made a new friend named Ricky.  We had a blast running around the farm together.  His dad's name was Micky and he was an Indian.  It was so fun!

This is the bathroom my family had to use.

At night it got really dark, but it was cool to watch the stars from the dome.
