Belize - 12.27.25

Corey and I were the first ones up and took a short walk on the beach. We were so excited to find a conch! Little did we know that finding a conch in Belize is like finding a kangaroo in WA, or a squirrel at Norre Dame - they are a part of the fabric of the place and are everywhere. I guess that's why you can find conch ceviche on every menu. Coconuts are even more plentiful! There are a lot of cats and dogs too.

Some of the artistic sea plants we came across dried on the shore.

We spent a good deal of the day in a lawn chair at the beach. It was cloudy and a bit windy, but the weather looked rainy the next few days so leaned in. One of our other learnings.after our first day is that whatever the weather is reported to do, it is wrong, and will likely do the exact opposite.

Yes, he is posing. He gets bribed with more minutes for every chapter he reads.

Our conch collection day 1. We brought back just a few of the 20+ we found.

For dinner we hopped in our golf cart and headed back towards San Pedro to the "Truck Stop". Super cool venue mDe out of sea containers with a variety of food options at different containers, live music, outdoor games, and a movie playing on Saturdays and Wednesdays. We will be back!

Me and my driver...

The bayous you pass along the way...
The girls after having a close call with a driver behind the golf cart not paying attention so 😕
