Day 31 - Lake Tahoe (July 27)

By Finny

Quiet morning.  I thought about letting Caden sit on the chair, but I don't want to spoil him.

We set off for a hike this morning, but couldn't decide if we should be in California or Nevada...

Ultimately, we got going on our hike.  I've been such a good hiker I haven't used my leash much.  I keep my family pretty close.

The waterfall wasn't too big, but I had a good swim.

So happy the smoke has passed!
We had a quick bit to eat and then went to the beach.

It got chilly quick.  I had to keep my mom warm.

Day 30 - Lake Tahoe (July 26)

By Finny

Mom and dad rode the Van Sickle trail this morning.  I don't why they don't take me!

When we got home the kids did an iron chef challenge with any food or leftovers they could find.
Smoked salmon and veggies with honey

Caden attempted homemade bread.  Funny, no one could actually swallow it, let alone leave it in their mouth for very long.

Lily made avocado and bacon tuna melt bits with a side of olive artichoke dip.  They said it tasted good, but the pink dip was a bit much.  I thought the bacon was good.

Day 29 - Lake Tahoe (July 25)

By Finny,

We had a lazy morning today.  It was a bit chilly, so I took advantage of the snuggly blankets - and my snuggly kids!

It was still a bit smoky this morning...

Those of us with opposable thumbs did a painting class taught by flowers.  I thought they should have painted squirrels, but no one ever listens to me.  Or do I never talk?  I don't remember.

We made pasta from the farmers market.  Looked good!  But they didn't share.  No worries.  I still had some of my "spa" bone buried in the yard.

We then headed out for a hike over by Emerald Bay.  This was the highlight of my day!  When we got to the lake I did some puppy zooms, off leash!  And then I walked most of the way back without my leash.  Who's da man, er pup?  Me.  Finn.

Keep up slow pokes...

We put our windows down and turned the system up and drove over to the Heavenly Gondola.  We grabbed a pizza and some ice cream.  Another good day!

Day 28 - Lake Tahoe (July 24)

By Finny

We woke up missing Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Troy!  I had an appointment at the "spa", so my family dropped me off, and then apparently went to breakfast and a bike ride!  Hmph.

Finally, they picked me up!  I'm not gonna lie.  I was a little mad that I missed out on the biking fun.  They bought me a bone to make up for it.  It kinda worked.

The scarf was a bit much and my hair was BIG!  I was mad.  What is this, the 90's?!?

We headed to the beach afterwards.  I couldn't wait to get in the water and get the "spa" smell after me and de-puff my hair!

Mom and kids swam to the rocks while I perfected my game of fetch.  Who's swimming over their head to get the ball?  Oh yeah, that'd be me.  Boom.

We had a little picnic and did some reading too.  Pretty chill.
