Costa Rica - Day 3

This is the gorgeous view from our balcony! Looking to the right you can see the marina. Oddly this is the same marina where we had an opportunity to tour the yacht of the house we were renting when we were in Costa Rica about 5 years ago with a group of friends.
These next two photos are to assure we get some scoldings from the grandma's.

Look ma - one hand!

Can you say "stud muffin"?!?!

We headed to Miguel Antonio rain forest for some hiking and to look for monkeys. The guide we hired gave Lily this little grass hopper made out of reeds. She loved it. Unfortunately it "hopped" away while we were hiking '_'

The start of the trek.

Our guide was able to snap magnified photos through the lens of his periscope.

This one was my favorite. Apparently the crabs make these balls of sand as they take nutrients (plankton) from the sand that they need. Who knew?!?
A stack of bats.
A sleeping sloth, which really feeds the stereotype of sloths : )
Cool photo. I do not remember the birds name, but he has great hair.
Then we found the monkeys - or they found us. They were whooping it up!

We then ended up at this beatiful bay where we took a breather.
Hot baby!
Lily and I using our drink umbrellas to keep us out of the imaginary rain at our post-hike meal.
Back at the hotel for more pool lounging. I thought this was cute with both Lindsay and Lily just laying there watching the volley ball game.
Lindsay, Lily, Caden and me had a bite to eat at the Lobby Bar before Corey and I had a date night.

Costa Rica - Day 2

The resort included an amazing breakfast buffet. We over indulged every morning, swearing off lunch...for a good 2 hours!

Caden was soooo tired. Lindsay worked her magic and got him to sleep while at breakfast.
He then lounged with daddy pool side, napping to the sound of waves crashing in the ocean.
And he slept... And he slept some more...
And then he played : )
As did Lily. She liked to ride the imaginary mommy dolphin. Great workout!
Lily and Caden absolutely loved the pool. It had shallow ledges all the way around the long and winding pool. It had a bunch of nooks to hide in and 6 bridges to pass under. It was perfect!
Lily hard at work coloring at the end of a full day of swimming. I cannot believe how long she looks in this photo!!!
And yes, I really was there.... : )

Costa Rica - Day 1

We flew out to Costa Rica on March 8th for a week of sun and fun. Below we waited for our car rental - at the same place we rented from our last time in Cosat Rica! Believe it or not, this is our attempt to pack light!!! Cute pic of Lindsay and our weary little Caden.
We stopped at a local eatery, called a Soda, on our way for some chicken. And yes, I was there too - just the woman behind the lens : )We were so hot when we made it to our beautiful hotel. We all headed out for a swim in the beautiful pool at the Los Suenos resort.

Caden is 10 Months

Caden is 10 months!!! He is scaling the walls and furniture to get where he wants to go. He loves to play in the little kitchen : )

Playing in the Snow

Yet another snow storm!!! Lily, Caden and I tried to build a snow man, and ended up with a snow dwarf (see below). Sadly our snow man kit, that we keep in the front hall closet all year, was missing its hat, eyes and mouth! So we took the sticks and improvised with our Mini Cooper ball cap, banana chips for the eyes, the traditional carrot nose, goldfish for the mouth and a Tootsie pop for the pipe.
Caden got chilly, so we let Lily and daddy finish the Snow Dwarf while we watched from the window.

The artistic window shot : )

Cousin Day!

We drove to Grand Rapids to see Julia's basketball tournament and to catch up with all the cousins. We had a blast. Caden and Marlee are too cute together : ) Lily ate at the end of the table with her cousins and no mommy or daddy!!!
