Tricia, Joel, and Jacqueline's Visit

We had a great visit! The ND v. Navy game was very exciting, and we had a great weather. That is the upside of a triple overtime defeat for ND's first loss to Navy in 44 years! We had great weather overall. Lily and Baby J had fun together...and so did their mommy's : ) [November 1 - 4, 2007]

MSU v. ND

Well, maybe it was my subconscious that did this, but I neglected to put up the post on the MSU v. ND game. ND took a beating. We had a great time though. Lily's grandma and grandpa Angst came to the game, Aunt Lindsay and Lindsay's friend Jonelle, as did Aunt Missy, Uncle Tom, and cousin Blake. Mommy's friend and fellow MSU alum Tricia and her baby Jacqueline also came to visit. We all had a great time tailgating (note Lily in her ND cheerleading outfit and Baby J in her MSU). Tricia and I stayed home from the game with the babies and everyone else watched the game. [September 22, 2007]

Halloween

Lily had a great time Trick-or-Treating! We canvassed our entire street and had a blast. Lindsay stayed at our house to pass out candy so that both Corey and I could go with Lily. She really got into it. She walked up to the door holding her little pumpkin and would knock. If a dog barked, she would bark back! Then, with a little prompting from mom and dad she’d say Trick-or-Treat, phonetically it sounded like ‘Tri-tree’. Many of the neighbors would put the bowl of candy down for Lily to pick a piece, which she would do and then immediately deposit in her little pumpkin with a smile. She would then say ‘ta-doh’ (thank you) and we’d be off. She had a full pumpkin by nights end and a blue face and tongue from enjoying one of her blue lollipop spoils while out. She also suffered a couple of skinned knees as our independent pirate princess had to walk on her own, carrying her own pumpkin. After we got home though we heard about those skinned knees for the rest of the night as she would continuously point to them and say ‘awoh – ouchy’, which required repeated kisses from mom and dad. We didn’t mind though. We also used the trick-or-treating to introduce ourselves to our neighbors. It was really great to meet everyone! Very nice people! We handed out invitations for all to join us at our house Tuesday, November 12 for a dessert party so we could get to know everyone. Problem is once we got home, we realized that Tuesday is the 13th!!! Oops. That one made it by both Corey and I. The second round of invites will go out this weekend ‘_’

Lily also had a chance to use her costume for her music class and her Notre Dame / Saint Mary's play group : ) [October 31, 2007]

Thimbleberry Farm

On Halloween eve we made a visit to Thimbleberry Farm to ride the cow train. And boy did we ride that cow train! Lily took it all in stride, thumb in mouth. The cow train actually consists of a row of barrels decorated like cows getting pulled by a tractor. We had it all to ourselves!

Lily also loved the barn. As you can see from the photos below, she was shoring up a promise from her daddy for her very own pony. There were also chickens, baby chicks and roosters running about. The rooster kept saying cock-a-doodle-doo, which is very loud, especially considering he would purposefully walk right next to Corey and Lily to announce himself. It was pretty funny. Other animals we pet included bunnys and goats.

Next we spent time in the pumpkin patch. Lily found one she had to have, as well as a few rocks from the driveway to add to her collection. Just like her mom and grandma Pfromm!

She wasn’t sure what to think about the scarecrows. A caption with these shots would be, ‘Hey, did they just move?!?” [October 30, 2007]

Pokagon

On our way back from Poland, OH, we stopped off at Pokagon to enjoy the beautiful day. [October 21, 2007]

South Bend through Mark and Debbie's Lens

Since we were unable to attend the ND v. USC game Oct. 20th, Mark (Wendy's boss) and Debbie came into town, looked after Jackie, and enjoyed the game. They captured some great shots of South Bend. See below.

Jon and Chrissy's Wedding

We had a great time at Jon and Chrissy's wedding October 20, spending the weekend (Oct 19 - 21) in Poland, OH. Corey was in the wedding. Lily really enjoyed the big fountain in the back of church, the cookie table with 300+ dozen cookies (as did her parents) and dancing all night! We finally dragged her home at 10:30 at night!

Decorating Pumpkins

We each painted a little pumpkin. It was a lot of fun! [October 15, 2007]
